What is Gospel Saturated?
“If you want to be wet you must get into the water.” — C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
The gospel is not a side topic. It's the water we live in.
Gospel Saturated is a passion project to help Christians and seekers know the gospel, become fully immersed in its truth, and be transformed by its living water.
We don’t just dip our toes or take a quick wash. We step in, we submerge our entire selves – until every part of our life is saturated by the good news of Jesus Christ.
What We Mean By “Gospel Saturated”
The gospel is good news before it is good advice. It tells us who Jesus is, what he has done, and what that means for our lives and our world. When we drink deeply of this good news, our hearts are satisfied, our lives are renewed, and our everyday habits change.
Over time the overflow touches how we think and speak, how we work and love, and it brings quiet good to our homes, our workplaces, and our streets.
Why The Name?
“Gospel saturated” uses a simple picture. Water brings life. In the same way the good news of Jesus brings life to the soul and fruit to a community.
We want this way of life to take root, grow, and multiply. Like living DNA, it copies itself as people hear the gospel, believe it, and pass it on in word and deed. We want the light of the gospel to shine in us and through us for the good of others and the glory of God.
How We Write And Check Ourselves
We take the Bible seriously. We read it slowly. We read it in context. We listen to the historic church, not because it’s perfect, but because we aren’t the first Christians to wrestle with these questions.
We welcome respectful pushback and honest questions. If we make a claim, we want to show you why. And if we get something wrong, we’ll endeavour to correct it.
Some topics are sensitive. Some passages are hard. We’ll not pretend otherwise. But we’ll not avoid them either. We want to approach these areas thoughtfully, with grace and care.

The Christian Faith
The Christian faith traces its beginnings back over 2,000 years to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in the region of Judea, within the Roman Empire. But it didn’t stay contained within in the Middle East for long. Through the work of the Apostles and early church fathers, the faith soon spread throughout the then-known world, reaching many foreign shores, with the number of Christians totaling 33 million by the year 350 AD.
Central to Christianity is the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to offer salvation to humanity through his death and resurrection. The Christian faith is deeply rooted in Jewish traditions and scriptures, which Christians believe were fulfilled in the coming of Jesus as the Messiah.
Written about 200 years after the birth of Christ, the Apostles’ Creed summarises foundational Christian beliefs taught by the early church and is a bold declaration of a Christian’s faith in Jesus Christ. It is a primary statement shared by Christians around the world, uniting them in common union with the work achieved in and through Jesus.

More about Gospel Saturated
“Look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.” — C. S. Lewis

Carrie lives on the east coast of Australia with her husband Luke and their three kids. She loves her family, coffee, the ocean, reading, big nerdy conversations, and, of course, Jesus.
Over the years, her understanding has grown, and she has come to see that the Christian life is less about arriving and more about walking faithfully with Christ day by day — a life sustained by grace and shaped by the work of the Holy Spirit, themes which she is passionate about preaching and teaching.
If you would like to get in touch with Carrie personally, you can reach out via email…
Gospel Saturated began over five years ago as a personal passion project by Carrie Shaw. Since then, it has grown into something larger, with readers in the USA, Asia, Denmark, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia.
Late last year, we began welcoming guest contributors who share a commitment to Christ-centred, biblically-grounded theology in a culture that often drifts from both.
At Gospel Saturated, we write across a wide range of biblical topics, speaking honestly about both the highs and lows of following Christ. The Christian life isn’t always easy. In fact, it’s often far harder than we expect.
Our aim in light of that reality is simple. We want people to know the gospel, to be immersed in its truth, transformed by its living water, and to hold fast without apology or confusion.
The gospel is good news, not only for what happens after death, but for life now. We believe it’s the most important truth a person will ever consider. As C S Lewis wrote, “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
Whether you’re new to faith, have followed Jesus for many years, or are still asking questions, you’re welcome here. We would love to hear your story.
Hi there.
Hi and welcome! I’m Carrie. I love coffee, the dog, the ocean, my hubby + kids, and books (and not necessarily in that order!).
My own journey began at 16; perhaps overly enthusiastically and somewhat underequipped in grace, but with genuine sincerity, nonetheless, to follow Jesus. Marriage, children, life changes, relocations, heartbreak, disappointment, career moves, and successes and failures since then have all contributed to a deeper awareness that the Christian life is perhaps less about the destination itself but more about the journey.
Whether you’re new to faith, have been a believer for a long time, or are still on the fence, I’d love to hear from you!
The fearless path home.
The Christian journey is the journey of a lifetime, beginning with the simple confession of faith in the saving work of Jesus and a commitment to a life spent following him. It’s a journey of unknowns, of constant learning and growing, as we find ourselves led deeper and deeper into relationship with the Father, His Son and the Spirit. Jesus hasn’t promised such a journey will be easy, as many Christians can attest, but he has promised to be with us always.
It’s in the journey of life that our character is formed and developed. The end of that journey will simply be the revealing of our character. This Christian life is learning to trust and walk alongside God, with our doubts and our faith hand-in-hand, untroubled by what we don’t yet know simply because of what we do know. That the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives in us. As Paul the Apostle was able to say: “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances…for I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

What is the gospel?
The word gospel means good news. When Jesus began his ministry he proclaimed: “The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news” (Mark 1:15).
The gospel, then, is the announcement that God’s rule and reign has broken into the world through Jesus Christ.
God created the world good, but sin brought death, decay, and brokenness. Jesus came as the true King to put creation back on course. His healings, miracles, and authority over evil were signs that God’s kingdom was breaking in. He was showing what life under God’s reign looks like – peace, justice, forgiveness, and wholeness.
