The gospel is good news before it is good advice. It tells us who Jesus is, what he has done, and what that means for our lives and our world.
Women were active in the early church – prophesying, praying, teaching, and serving. Luke tells us of Anna the prophet (Luke 2:36) and Philip’s daughters who prophesied (Acts 21:9). Paul acknowledges that “every woman who prays or prophesies” should do so appropriately (1 Corinthians 11:5), not that she must not do so.
I was a different person back then. At least I’d like to think so. Dogmatic. Self-assured. Self-righteous. It’s hard to know for sure. What part is personality, what part is learned
I’m in Bible College this year, working towards a Diploma in Biblical Theology (this will, I know, NOT COME AS A SHOCK TO SOME OF YOU…) and really, it’s the dream of a lifetime to spend 5+ hours each week in biblical conversation with others of a similar persuasion.
